Liverpool’s 30 James Street Hotel was voted the best in Britain in the Travel Republic Hotel Awards 2018.
The Grade II listed property was once the headquarters of the White Star Line shipping company. It was built in 1896 by the architect Norman Shaw and was reopened in 2014 by Signature Living after a multi-million pound restoration. Prizes were handed out to hotels around the world based on Travel Republic customer reviews and ratings. The 30 James Street Hotel came top in the UK after achieving an average customer score of 9.3 out of 10.
The hotel pays homage to the White Star Line company and includes artefact relating to it’s doomed ship, Titanic. It regularly attracts history lovers from around the world.
The former offices have been replaced with lavish rooms and an elegant restaurant on the seventh floor which boasts spectacular views of Liverpool’s waterfront. The hotel’s basement contains a luxurious spa and pool.
A total of 1,193 hotels across the world in 20 popular holiday destinations were given Travel Republic awards for delivering exceptional levels of service and world-class facilities.
Signature Living Managing Director, Kris Mochrie, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be named best hotel in Britain by Travel Republic.
