Chancellor Rishi Sunak has extended the governments furlough scheme for 1 month until the end of April 2021.

Mr Sunak said the move would provide "certainty for millions of businesses and jobs".

This means the government will continue to pay 80% of the wages of workers who have been furloughed during the COVID 19 pandemic.

The announcement also means that Mr Sunak will be extending the government-guaranteed Covid-19 business loan schemes until the end of March.
