Political Rivals Unite to Celebrate Lincolnshire's Innovations at Inaugural Exhibition
Join the excitement! The inaugural Lincolnshire Exhibition is set to break new ground this month, featuring speakers from rival political parties who aim to showcase the best of what Lincolnshire has to offer. Organized by Dame Andrea Jenkyns, the Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, this historic event is not just about politics; it’s a celebration of innovation in engineering, energy, food, and farming.
On October 22, the Lincolnshire Showground will host prominent figures from both Reform UK and the Labour Party, underscoring a united front to promote local interests. Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, will join via video link, delivering insights on how local mayors can drive economic growth—a person whom Dame Andrea praises as a significant inspiration for her leadership style.
Adding to the political landscape will be Zia Yusuf, former chairman of Reform UK and now the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force, which will focus on optimizing operations within the Lincolnshire County Council. The exhibition aims to attract new investments and foster trade through vibrant displays of local creativity and technology, following the spirit of the historic Great Exhibition of 1851.
With hopes of creating new partnerships and developing a renewed pride among Lincolnshire’s communities, this event, featuring a RAF Typhoon flypast, promises to be a day of celebration and opportunity. Approximately 100 exhibitors, including major sponsors like Siemens Energy and ABP, are expected to attend. Dame Andrea expresses her eagerness, stating that this exhibition is a pledge fulfilled from her mayoral manifesto, aimed at sharing Lincolnshire’s remarkable story with the world and showcasing its resilience and creativity.
