While footfall figures show a 1.5% decline in UK high streets compared to 2024, shopping centers faced only a 0.6% decrease according to MRI Software. However, it was noted that prior to this surge, shoppers had been quite cautious due to disappointing sales figures over October and November. Streeter expressed skepticism about whether the late surge in spending could compensate for earlier disappointments.
