From MP to Rebel: Rupert Lowe's Shocking Claims Against Nigel Farage's 'Cult'

Former Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe has made explosive allegations against Nigel Farage’s leadership of his party, dubbing it “the cult of Nigel.” In an eye-opening interview with Victoria Derbyshire on BBC Newsnight, Lowe articulated his claims that he was the victim of a ”political assassination attempt” after his relationship with the party soured following Elon Musk’s positive remarks about him in contrast to Farage.

Lowe, who was suspended from Reform in March due to allegations of making threats towards the party’s chairman, didn’t hold back regarding Farage’s ”brutal” management style. He expressed that Farage tends to eliminate those whose popularity might outshine his own, comparing his leadership team to “what you tend to find in a cult.” He strongly criticized Farage’s competency, calling him a ”very good ballroom entertainer” but unfit for leadership.

In a significant update, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) decided not to press charges against Lowe related to a December incident at the Palace of Westminster. He maintains the allegations against him are groundless and suggests they stem from an attempt to undermine his political standing.

Lowe also recounted a dramatic episode in which police confiscated his firearms from his home, following tensions with Reform UK. He hinted at a potential new political movement or affiliation, even stating that the Tory party could present a viable option, while ensuring that an alternative to the current political landscape exists. Notably, he hinted at the possibility of future support from Elon Musk for his political endeavors.

Sarah Pochin, who recently won a by-election for Reform UK, dismissed Lowe’s criticisms as “white noise” amidst the party’s ongoing growth. However, Lowe remains steadfast in his convictions, emphasizing he is not ready to withdraw from the political arena.
